When checking a DNS, you will get two type of resulst
- The domain successfully propagated and you will likely able to visit that website using the new DNS records
- The propagation is not finished, failed, timeout, or the we can not reach the DNS server.
If you just changed your DNS record, it’s recommended to wait up to 48 hours until the DNS fully propagated.
DNS Propagation is the time required for a DNS to be updated across internet connections worldwide. If the DNS configuration is correct, it usually takes up to 48 hours for the propagation to complete. You can use the Indonesian DNS Checker tools to check the propagation status of your domain from various ISPs for free.
When you change a record on your domain and want to open the website from that domain, the ISP will check their network’s DNS cache to see if there is a cache stored for that domain or not. If there is no cache, then the ISP will directly check the latest DNS from the domain to be accessed, thus speeding up the process of searching for the DNS Record. However, if there is already a cache within the ISP, then the ISP will immediately provide that cache data and direct you according to the existing DNS cache.
Each ISP has different times to update this cache, so the time required to read DNS changes will vary.
